TOB Partners with Alibaba AI for Smarter Battery Solutions
Aug 14,2026TOB NEW ENERGY recently hosted the AI team from Alibaba for a company-wide training program on AI applications. The session covered practical ways TOB employees can use AI tools to improve efficiency in daily work, while the two companies also explored how AI can support TOB's battery equipment and services in the future.
The training reflects TOB's approach to AI: adopt it as a working assistant, not as a replacement for engineering experience. TOB's customers need precision, reliability, and accountability in battery manufacturing. AI helps TOB teams move faster and work smarter; TOB engineers remain responsible for every conclusion, every recommendation, and every answer.

Training Highlights
During the on-site training, Alibaba's AI specialists shared practical applications of AI across office workflows. TOB teams from engineering, sales, supply chain, and after-sales management participated, learning how to use AI tools for documentation, data processing, cross-language communication, and routine task automation.
The program was designed to be hands-on rather than theoretical. Employees practiced using AI tools on real work scenarios, such as drafting technical documents, summarizing research materials, organizing customer requirements, and improving internal reporting. The goal was straightforward: reduce repetitive work so engineers and service teams can spend more time on tasks that require human judgment.
AI in Daily Work: Faster, Not Replaced
TOB has already introduced AI-assisted workflows in daily operations. Examples include:
- Using AI to speed up technical documentation and data organization
- Using AI to support cross-language communication with international customers
- Using AI to help summarize and structure internal reports and training materials
In every case, AI serves as an assistant. Employees verify AI-generated content before it is used, and AI is never treated as the source of final technical decisions. For TOB, the value of AI in daily work is time: faster preparation, better organization, and more attention available for engineering analysis and customer communication.
AI in Products and Services: Pilots Underway, More on the Roadmap
Beyond internal productivity, TOB is working with Alibaba's AI team to explore AI applications in battery equipment and customer services. Early-stage pilot programs are already underway in selected areas, with deeper applications being planned.
Current pilot areas focus on how AI can assist, not replace, engineering work:
- AI-assisted analysis of equipment operation data to help engineers identify patterns faster
- AI-assisted organization of technical knowledge to support faster, more consistent customer support preparation
- AI-assisted process parameter suggestions that engineers evaluate and validate before applying
These pilots are deliberately limited in scope. AI does not make decisions for TOB engineers. It helps them analyze data, organize knowledge, and prepare recommendations more efficiently. The final judgment always comes from engineers who understand the customer's application, chemistry, equipment, and process requirements.
As the collaboration with Alibaba continues, TOB will evaluate which AI applications deliver measurable value for customers and scale them accordingly. battery equipment, battery materials, and turnkey production lines will continue to be delivered with the same engineering discipline, now supported by smarter tools.
Engineering Judgment Always Comes First
TOB wants to be clear about the boundary of AI adoption: AI improves how we work. It does not replace why customers trust us — engineering judgment, verified processes, and responsibility for every answer we give.
When a customer asks a technical question, they receive an answer prepared by TOB engineers. When a process adjustment is recommended, it is based on validated data and hands-on experience. AI may help our teams find information faster or prepare an analysis more quickly, but no AI output reaches a customer without human review and responsibility.
This is also why TOB's investment in AI goes together with investment in its people and facilities. In TOB's battery R&D center, engineers use AI-assisted analysis to accelerate work while continuing to validate conclusions through physical testing and process experience. AI is a multiplier for engineering capability, not a substitute for it.
What This Means for Customers
For TOB's customers, the practical benefits of AI adoption are simple:
- Faster preparation of technical documents, quotations, and responses
- More consistent organization of customer requirements and project history
- More efficient use of engineering time on complex, high-value tasks
- Equipment and battery solutions supported by smarter internal tools and early-stage AI assistance
None of these change the fundamentals customers rely on: experienced engineers, validated processes, quality systems, and direct accountability. AI makes TOB teams faster and better organized. Engineering experience, testing discipline, and responsibility make TOB trustworthy.
Looking Ahead
TOB will continue to work with Alibaba's AI team to explore practical AI applications in battery manufacturing and services. The company's approach remains the same: adopt AI where it genuinely helps, validate every result, and never lose sight of the engineering fundamentals that protect customer value.
AI is part of how TOB works today. Engineering responsibility is why customers choose TOB.
